Walk ins may not always be accepted, please do make an appointment to avoid disappointment. I will of course, always endeavour to book you an appointment at a time that best suits you.
The closest car park is Saturday Market Place (use postcode PE30 5DQ) or the NCP car park on Church Street, which is just a short 5 minute walk away (use postcode PE30 5EB)
Please allow plenty of time for parking, should you be late for your appointment, you will unfortunately eat into your own appointment time.

I completly understand and appreciate that wedding dress shopping can be an overwhelming and, potentially, scary prospect. Rest assured that, here at The Bottom Drawer, I will ensure your appointment experience is calm, relaxed, friendly and most importantly fun! I am on hand throughout to make sure there are plenty of smiles, and will often make it a personal mission to ensure there is at least 1 guest crying happy tears!
At The Bottom Drawer Bridal, I operate by appointment only, this is to ensure that each and every bride who visits the boutique receives the ultimate, most wonderful experience that they deserve, without interruption. Please note that while you have the boutique to yourself, the boutique is located on a main shopping street, so you may find a couple of extra eyes at the window!
You are always more than welcome to pop by and if I am available to offer an appointment I will be more than happy to, but you may want to ring ahead, I would hate for you to be disappointed if I already have an appointment in progress.
I must ask that all brides come to their appointment on time, as a small boutique, I simply do not have any space for you to wait inside the boutique and I like each bride to receive a completely private and personal experience, so if you do arrive a little early, Saturday Market Place and The Quayside has plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants for you to wait and relax in prior to your appointment.
When should I start looking for my dress?
This depends on you! I’m a firm believer in shopping when you are ready! Some brides wish to visit several times, whilst many others will say yes on their first visit. The majority of my gowns take between 12 – 20 weeks to arrive at the boutique. Some can take a little longer, some a little less therefore I would advise leaving no less than 6 months to ensure your dress arrives on time and a further minimum 8 weeks for alterations. Rush orders can be arranged, but these can come with additional charges, depending on the designer and time of year, along with a whole load of additional stress. However, if you do not have this length of time please do get in touch as I maybe able to obtain your gown quicker than you think.
What size are your samples?
A sample dress will never fit you perfectly but please don’t worry, all of my dresses can be ordered in many sizes. My samples range from a size 8 – 18, with some careful clipping, a size 12 can be put on a size 16 and still see the overall look.
Do you have dresses that can be taken away the same day?
Yes. At least once a year I have to make way for new collections arriving from my designer’s as well as the odd discontinued dress. This means I will have beautiful designer wedding dresses available off the rail with up to 70% off which can mean some gowns start from only £400. You can see my current off the rail dresses here.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Ideally something that you feel comfortable being seen in! If you can, wear nude coloured, comfortable and seam free underwear, ill fitting underwear can sometimes be really hard to overlook! Don’t worry too much about the bra, most gowns have some form of support built in and a bra will just get in the way! If you have a favourite pair of heels bring them!
I must ask, please DO NOT wear fake tan to your appointment, it is practically impossible to remove from wedding dresses, if you could also keep your make up to a minimum and refrain from wearing lipstick, I would be eternally grateful!
What should I expect from my appointment?
Finding your wedding dress is an experience and a memory you should treasure forever, which is why when you come to The Bottom Drawer Bridal you have the entire boutique to yourself.
I will ask you all about your wedding, your fiancé and what your dinner plans are and together we will discuss what you are looking for in your wedding dress. I will help you select some gowns to try and that is where the fun begins.
How many guests can I bring with me?
When you do come for your appointment, I am asking that for the time being, you bring with you, up to three special guests. The people in your life, who perhaps know you and your style better than you do, knows exactly what your dream wedding looks like and wants what you want, to know that you will look absolutely amazing on your wedding day!
I must insist that your guests remain seated throughout the entire appointment unless completely necessary.
I haven’t forgotten about the rest of your bridal party and all those other wonderful people in your life that you would wish to have at your appointment with you, I have made arrangements and have the technology in the boutque to have them all there with you virtually, whether you want them there for the entire appointment or just to show them the one is entirely up to you!Are children welcome?
Unfortunately Ivory fabrics and children don’t mix, so I kindly ask, where possible, to refrain from bringing children under the age of 16 into the boutique.
When should I order my dress?
The sooner you place your order the better, saving you any unnecessary stress. As I said above 8-10 months should cover the process from start to finish, therefore I strongly advise you to stick to this where possible.
Rush orders can be available (subject to designer availability) but this comes with additional charges and stress! and who needs that?
Can I take photos?
In a word, no. Unless your mum is a pro photographer I would strongly recommend that you do not request photos of you in your gown. The photographs are not going to be flattering no matter how hard we try, the dress won’t fit 100% and I rarely find that any bride is able to look back on the photos positively. This is where I must ask you to trust your gut! It’s going to be so much better than your camera phone!
What happens next?
When you find ‘the one’, I will take your measurements during your appointment. Your gown will be ordered according to the designers measurements chart in your nearest size or depending on the designer, I will send them your measurements for your made to measure gown.
Your dress will then be delivered to the boutique within the time frame as discussed in your appointment. Your dress WILL need to be altered to fit you 100% perfectly
I have a recommended seamstress, Emma. She is completely independent from The Bottom Drawer Bridal and all her contact details will be in with your order information. You are able to meet and have your fittings with Emma at The Bottom Drawer Bridal (for an additional fee) or at her own Studio. You are under no obligation to use Emma.
You will normally need around 2-3 fittings appointments. Please be aware any alteration fees are NOT included in the price of your dress.
Where can I store my dress?
I am able to store your gown for you in the boutique. There is a monthly fee of £50.
For every new gown purchased, you are provided with a complimentary The Bottom Drawer Bridal Dress Bag. For Sample sale gowns, a The Bottom Drawer Bridal Dress Bag can be purchased for £15.
Do you buy 2nd Hand Dresses?
I don't buy back preloved wedding dresses

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS TO ENSURE FULL UNDERSTANDING OF THIS AGREEMENT
Before progressing with your order, we will need confirmation that you agree to the terms and conditions of sale. It is strongly recommended that you read this document in full and to keep a copy for your own records.
By entering into a business agreement with The Bottom Drawer Bridal Ltd you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of sale.
From here on 'you' refers to the customer and 'us'/'we'/'our' refers to The Bottom Drawer Bridal Ltd.
PAYMENT: A 50% deposit is required at the time of placing the order; the balance is due for payment on delivery of the gown to The Bottom Drawer Bridal Ltd. In cases where the balance is settled by Cheque, Goods will not be released until the cheque has been cleared Title of the goods shall remain with the vendor until full and final payment has been made. No goods may be removed from our premises until the full balance of the order has been settled. All Sale goods are sold as seen; must be paid in full and are non-refundable. Discounts will only be given at the management’s discretion.
CANCELLATION: In the event of a cancellation of any order within 7 days, the cancellation will be accepted but the deposit is forfeited. This only applies to new dresses not to sale goods. If cancellation occurs after that time the entire cost of the order can become due, at the managements discretion. Please note that once the order is taken and the deposit paid, the deposit becomes non-refundable, you have 7 days to cancel your order. Please note that once garments have been ordered these cannot be returned except where your statutory rights apply. Custom Made orders are non-refundable. MEASUREMENTS: The company cannot accept any responsibility for any changes that may occur in the customer’s body, shape, size or height, this includes pregnancy. The customer will render all reasonable co-operation to the companies in connection with fitting and measurements.
ALTERATIONS: The full balance of the order should be settled upon arrival and notification of goods before alteration can commence (no credit can be given on this balance) Charges will be applied to delays on the balance. The costs of alterations are not included in the price of the dress unless otherwise stated at time of purchase. Alterations at The Bottom Drawer Bridal are not obligatory but we cannot be held responsible for any alteration work undertaken.
COLLECTION OF GOODS: The Customer is requested to collect goods within 14 days after notification of the completion. Goods that remain uncollected after this period will incur a weekly storage charge of 5% of the total order. This amount must be paid for in full before the goods will be released. As goods are specific to customers’ requirements, it is the responsibility of the customer to inspect the goods prior to removing from premises, once the customer has left the premises it is deemed that the goods have been accepted. If specifically ordered, the customer doesn’t collect goods within 6 months of having 1st been notified of delivery these will then be returned to stock for resale and all monies pertaining will be forfeited.
STORAGE: It is recommended that any Bridal gown is kept out of direct sunlight Storage charges may be levied on gowns
COMPLAINTS: Any complaint regarding goods or services must be confirmed in writing within 48 hours of purchase. * The terms and conditions of this agreement do not affect your statutory rights
It is always recommended that you take out Wedding Insurance.
DATA STORAGE/PRIVACY POLICY:
The Bottom Drawer Bridal Ltd will respect your personal data. The Bottom Drawer Bridal Ltd holds personal information on file obtained through your Bridal Booking Form/Email. We use the information you provide to place the order with the relevant Designer and to enable your dress to be constructed or altered to your design requirements. Your details are used for communication purposes and to update you about relevant services and upcoming appointments scheduled between The Bottom Drawer Bridal Ltd and the customer. The Bottom Drawer Bridal Ltd will not disclose any information without your consent and your details will be stored according to the Data Protection Act. Details are held in a secure file, and will never be passed on to third parties. Details are only held on file for the duration of your booking and the following financial tax year, after this all personal information is permanently deleted in accordance with the new General Date Protection Regulations. From 25th May 2018 I will require your clear consent to hold this information on file. If you do not agree for The Bottom Drawer Bridal Ltd to store your details on file in this way, then please get in touch immediately, however please note that I will no longer be able to carry out any scheduled bookings until consent is given.
